FOUNDER
Meet Christie! Christie Valdiserri is a Sports Illustrated Model, Professional Dancer, Fitness Instructor, and the Founder of The Baldtourage. Christie grew up in West Chester, PA but currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. After graduating college, Christie was diagnosed with Alopecia. She hid under a wig for about a year then decided it was time to set herself free & share her story. Christie is determined to support other women & girls on their journey to self love so she created The Baldtourage in March of 2020. She has cultivated a very powerful, unique, accepting, empathetic, & of course, fun environment at The Baldtourage. Christie believes that if she can go from blonde, to bald, to bold… YOU CAN TOO!!!!

Meet Echo! Echo Centofanti, aka Queen Echo, is a 44 year old artist & calligrapher living in Boston, MA with her husband and 2 daughters (10 & 13). She didn’t develop alopecia until she was almost 30, already married with plans to start a family and grow her small business, Echo Art and Design. It wasn’t until 2020, when her hair loss rapidly progressed to alopecia universalis, that she came to the realization that this was not something that was going away. She began to finally face her diagnosis and sought out to understand what living with alopecia really meant for her. She joined the Baldtourage and attended her first ever Baldtourage Meet Up Night in February 2021! Echo then became a part of the BT Team as the official Graphic Designer in August 2021. Queen Echo’s graphics can be seen in IG flyers, newsletters and merch!

Christal Malcolm
BALDTOURAGE TEAM
Meet Christal! Christal Malcolm, is 44 years young from Toronto, Canada. She has a form of scarring alopecia known as Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia. Living with this for over 20 years, she has realized that we are not designed to fit into one mold… “that's boring!” she says. Hence why Christal has channeled her trials into her testimony that bald is beautiful. Christal joined Baldtourage in December of 2020 and became a part of the Baldtourage Team in March 2022. Christal has grown so much in the last few years and believes that, “If I can do it so can you...you got this!”

Shefali Kovoor-Misra

Meet Shefali! Shefali is 24 years old and lives in Denver, Colorado. She was diagnosed with Alopecia after finding a bald patch on her head when she was 12 years old. After 5 years of battling the patches and trying every treatment, Shefali went completely bald at 17 years old, just weeks before starting her senior year of high school. It’s been a difficult journey of highs & lows but she’s so grateful to have found The Baldtourage who makes her feel understood, supported, and celebrated. Shefali works in the fashion space doing community development and event planning and is thrilled to be able to use her expertise as part of The Baldtourage Team!
