When I lost my hair… I was the first woman in my life who was FORCED to be bald.
I never even heard the word Alopecia until I was 22 years old.
I lived 3,000 miles away from my family and the town that I grew up in.
The feeling in the pit of my stomach every day was the same…
I was scared…
hopeless…
shameful…
depressed..
and so extremely lonely.
Months passed and I hid under my wig. I told no one. I was too embarrassed.
I constantly felt like
“WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME!?”
“WHY ME?!”
“WHY DO I HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS?!”
I would cry myself to sleep. Night after night.
I skipped work, bailed on friends, stopped auditioning… my whole world was crumbling right in front of my eyes. I couldn’t get myself to face the world, let alone scroll on social media and see everyone’s “perfect” lives.
I felt so broken.
My hair made me who I was.
I completely lost my identity at 22 years old.
Then, due to the power of the universe… I found another woman who had also lost her hair and was living in LA as a professional dancer. The first day we met we talked for 4 hours. She knew what I was going through, we understood each other. I saw myself in someone for the first time in awhile. The cafe closed at 5pm and they kicked us out… but we would have stayed talking all night.
We hung out hiding under our wigs, crying in our cars, every single day for the next 9 months. We slowly found other women and found strength in each other. After a few agonizing years, I knew there were other women who felt like and looked like me and I was determined to find them.
It was a snowball effect and I began to meet hundreds of other women (& girls!) who were going through exactly what I was going through.
Through group chats, meet ups, and zoom calls… we supported each other and found strength in community.
It’s through this community strength that The Baldtourage was born.

If I join Baldtourage Active for my child, do I have to join separately for myself as a parent?
No, one Baldtourage Active membership per family!
What is the difference between the email list and Baldtourage Active?
Good question! The email list you just receive our monthly emails with updates and fun tips n tricks. If you’re a part of Baldtourage Active you can attend all of our online events, be in the private group chat, become a part of our close knit community, and much more!
Can I sign up month to month?
No, for Baldtourage Active, it is a membership fee, billed monthly and you can cancel at anytime (even though we’ll be SO sad to see you go)!
What type of events do you host?
In the past we have hosted the following events, all online: Wine Nights, Momma Meet Ups (for mothers to connect to others who can relate to them), Spa Night (face masks and painting our nails), Craft Parties, Pumpkin Carving Parties, Makeup Tutorials (with a professional makeup artist who also has alopecia), Face Painting Parties, Baking Parties (we made cookies for Thanksgiving last year!), Singing Lessons, and most recently a Fashion Show!
Are the monthly payments recurring?
Yes! We would love to have you a part of our family for life, but you can cancel your membership at any time.
My son has hair loss, do you allow boys?
YES, of course! We’ve had a few boys (and men) in Baldtourage in the past! All are welcome!!
I don’t have Alopecia but I have a different form of hair loss, can I still join?
Absolutely!!!!!!!!! We have other members who are in the same boat as you. So, YES we would love to have you!
